It will not take many more storms of this magnitude to begin the desertion of New Orleans.

This process will accelerate -- pedal-to-the-metal -- when insurers start refusing to write policies on homes in areas that are evidently in process of being reclaimed by rising water.

  KK: It was crazy to ever build a city 20 feet below sea level to begin with. Disaster waiting to happen. It's tragic the people who are caught without a way out are those who are living in poorest areas who normally depend on public transportation. So sad for them and pray they get out in time.

    You replicate Trump's continual refrain -- "People say!" -- and, by extension, you use "stupefaction-by-association" to "buy into" non-factual (and anti-factual) crud. 
    
    Please understand that, in the main, "most people" are intellectually lazy and prefer the facile "confirmation bias" of middle school sound bites to anything remotely resembling Truth. 
    
    The fact that "everybody is talking" is perhaps THE VERY BEST REASON to suspect that your informants are full of crap.

    Nor have you held that actual edition of "George" in your own hands. 
    
    I KNOW this because the lie you propagate (with the metastatic fecundity of "Body Snatcher pods") is NOT CONTAINED ANYWHERE IN "GEORGE."
    
    Nor will you get hold of "George" in the future because doing so WILL collapse your house of cards.

    You should also know -- as a matter of fact -- that University librarians would NEVER participate in any kind of cover-up to purge "George" of it’s contents. The idea is belly laughable.
    
    The "cover-up" Karen is entirely yours. 
    
    And you CAN discover the truth of the matter by working (for free) with a reference librarian at Duke or UNC. (Imagine: If you are right and can prove me factually wrong by showing me the actual passage in George, I will repent in public. I will stand on the Raleigh Cathedral steps in sack-and-ash begging forgiveness. This is not a figure of speech. Prove me wrong and I WILL do it.)
