The Sisters of Mercy
(The order that educated me in my formative years)
Alan: In the 1950s, the Sisters of Mercy who operated St. Thomas the Apostle grammar school in Irondequoit, New York, taught me there was no dogmatic reason why Catholics "had" to believe any human soul had ever ended up in "hell." We were taught that it was our obligation as Catholics to "pray for the salvation of every soul - including Adolf Hitler's."
