The United States of America launched a bloody revolution based on a grievance vituperated by already-wealthy white men that it was outrageously unjust for The Crown to levy taxes on colonists when the colonists were not represented in the process.

And so, our American forebears polluted the national wellspring by filling it with needlessly split blood.

Canada?

Canada chose to remain part of the British Empire and by so doing they reaped considerable benefits from that relationship, not least of which was a certain affection for civilization.

How did Canada become an independent nation, arguably the most amicably regarded of all nations on earth?

Their brainstorm was patience which allowed them to let time pass.

91 years after the United States declared independence and started shedding blood for reasons no more honorable than Trump's reasons for deconstructing the United States government Canada became its own sovereign polity on July 1st, 1867. 

Until 1931, Canada remained part of the British Empire -- enjoying a wide range of associated benefits. 

To this day Canada remains part of the British Commonwealth and Canadians are better off for that close relationship.

Over the same period of time it has become accurate to re-name The United States of America, The United States of Barbaria.

Americans are unusually fond of killing people because they are unusually self-righteous "Christians."

And as long as Christianity believes in a God who created a Universe that contain a "place of endless torment without possibility of reform or surcease." 

It is torment -- torture -- for its own sadistic sake. 

That brand of "Christianity" will, inevitably, encourage bloodthirsty "Christians" to visit violence on people they consider unbelievers -- infidels. 

And since their God has already designed unimagible torment for these reprobate infidels, His followers feel they are entitled -- indeed, that they are encouraged by God -- to visit torment on God-damned sinners as a way to "keep them in line" and also to "minimize their insult to God Almighty

In effect, doing any-and-every-kind of violence on the God damned is virtuous behavior, behavior that demonstrates their own "special" friendship with God while doing what they can to lessen the pain these sinners bring upon their Deity.

Here's how the monstrosity plays out, if only attitudinally.
