"Investigating, strategizing and executing" just the current "Ukraine component" of the House impeachment process will take us into January - at least.
If Democrats are also going to build an "obstruction case" -- an effort I applaud, in part because it will tease out more dirt on mofo, and elaborate the body of "actionable evidence" documented in The Mueller Report -- this new "Obstruction process" will take us into the last 100 days of the campaign... which is when 85% of Americans start to pay attention.
This prolonged "double whammy" will take much longer, especially if Trump drags the process out by claiming executive privilege while engaging other obstructionist activities. (Seriously folks... How can Malignant Messiah resist any opportunity to obstruct?)

I would like nothing better than to see the emergence of "daily dirt on Donald" -- plus The Mueller Report's vindication -- right through election day.
And if the House prolongs the process past next year's election (and assuming Mafia Don doesn't lose) there will be no opportunity for the House-ratified articles of impeachment to go to the Senate, which, in turn, precludes any chance of Trump thumping his chest: "I told you so! It's just another witch hunt! I'm completely exonerated!"
Plus, if the Senate begins its impeachment trial after election day, there will be even more sh*t which Republican senators must "rub their noses in" if they decide to stay on The Trump Train.
If forced to embrace yet greater ignominy by exonerating Trump after election day, I think any GOP senator who is interested in saving his-or-her senate seat (except for those senators who represent crimson red states) will, perforce, give serious thought to throwing SOBMF under the bus.
I wouldn't be surprised if this strategy is what Pelosi and Schiff have been planning from the get-go.
