A Thread On My Facebook Page Discusses "The Electoral College" And "Tyranny Of The Majority"

At the national level, do we believe in the principle of “one person one vote?”
Or, do we believe that some individuals votes are worth many multiples of other people’s votes?
Check out a map of the waterless Sahara compared with the few occupied settlements on the fringe.

  • Elodie Bentley Should it say each of the blue colored states? That may be true but that the total of those states is the same as LA county isn’t.
  • Zach Zimet I wouldn't mind an electoral college so much if Gerrymandering for other elections were illegal. We do have the Senate to balance small states against big states; I think the Constitutional ideal of avoiding tyranny of the majority makes sense.

But if the designed-to-be-elitist electoral college didn't prevent Trump, I wonder what it's good for.
