What Did Jesus Look Like?: "Under The Banner Of Heaven" And "A Study In Scarlet"

Amazon.com: Beeton's Christmas Annual 1887 Facsimile Edition ...
Dear Dan,

Thanks!

While trying to track down details of your near-death account, I came across a fascinating Wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_religious_hoaxes

Don't miss "The Salamander Letter" in the Mormonism section.

Also, one of the most informative -- and riveting -- books I've ever read is titled "Under The Banner Of Heaven: A Story Of Violent Faith," by renowned author Jon Krakauer who pretty much invented the genre of writing history with the suspense of great "who-dun-it" drama. If you think you might read "Banner," I encourage you NOT to read any of the following Wikipedia entry (nor blurbs on the book jacket) so you can enter this "real world" completely unaware of what you will find. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Under_the_Banner_of_Heaven (If you like this approach to "dramatized history," I have two other favorite books "up this same alley.")

Although it's difficult to predict what other people will like, I predict you will find this book a page-turner.

In fact, I believe "Under The Banner Of Heaven" will so submerge you in the history of its protagonists, as well as the history/culture of Utah, that you will forget you're semi-housebound.

Thanks again for your email.

PS One of my favorite Sir Arthur Conan Doyle mysteries is mostly set in mid 19th century Utah.

A Study in Scarlet is an 1887 detective novel written by Arthur Conan Doyle. The story marks ... The story flashes back to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah in 1847, where John Ferrier and a little girl named Lucy, ...

That’s an interesting take, all paintings and drawings of Jesus were done by European and he was given given European Characteristics. Some years back there was a boy who had an extensive near death experience and reported having multiple interactions with Jesus during the event. He said that in his interactions that Jesus had short black curly hair and dark skin. He had emerged from the experience with a lot of information he shouldn’t have had and a book was written about his experiences during that time. The family had a sketch artist try to draw the Jesus the boy had met. Very different than the face in the image you sent. You might be able to track down the book online but I have no more information about it than I’ve written here.
