Also, one of the most informative -- and riveting -- books I've ever read is titled "Under The Banner Of Heaven: A Story Of Violent Faith," by renowned author Jon Krakauer who pretty much invented the genre of writing history with the suspense of great "who-dun-it" drama. If you think you might read "Banner," I encourage you NOT to read any of the following Wikipedia entry (nor blurbs on the book jacket) so you can enter this "real world" completely unaware of what you will find. https://en.wikipedia.
Although it's difficult to predict what other people will like, I predict you will find this book a page-turner.
In fact, I believe "Under The Banner Of Heaven" will so submerge you in the history of its protagonists, as well as the history/culture of Utah, that you will forget you're semi-housebound.
