A Poem For George Floyd: "It's So Much Easier This Way..."

                                                     For George Floyd

                                                     It's so much easier this way,
                                                     isn't it officer?
                                                     No need to find a rope,
                                                     a stool
                                                     a tree with just the right branch.

                                                     No need to buy gasoline to 
                                                     burn the body afterwards.
                                                    That was all so 20th century.

                                                    Now, all you need is handcuffs,
                                                    a state-issued badge,
                                                    a knee, and the 
                                                    weight of 400 years on a 
                                                    black neck. 

                                                    Yes, this is so much more civilized.
