These safety-seeking "Christians" who would much rather kill than risk laying down their lives are convinced -- as other carnivores are -- that explosive violence is the default solution to human problems.

On the other hand are those humans -- Christian or not -- who believe, often implicitly, that we need to trust in words-and-negotiation first.

Yes, sometimes words will fail.

But on balance, more people will die (and be maimed) in a culture that normalizes explosive violence as the fundamental mechanism for resolving problems. 

I call your attention to Vietnam, Iraq and the ineffable idiocy of World War I in which people went to war with much the same rationalization that mountaineers climb Everest.

It's there.

It lies in the path.

It needs to be dominated.
