Dear Chuck,

I just made my reservation to see "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" at Burlington's Paramount Theater.

The title of a newspaper review says "Succeed" is "Pure Fun."

"How To Succeed" Is Pure Fun
This Paramount production stars one of Maria's thespian buddies from "Young People's Performing Company" in downtown Durham. https://www.facebook.com/yppcus/

His name is Bryan O'Kelley Cox and he has all the gifts -- acting, singing, dancing and spirit -- to "make it on Broadway."

I have enjoyed Bryan's performance since he debuted (?) -- at age 8 -- as Beadle Bumble in "Oliver".

Would you like to join me?
"How To Succeed" Remains Relevant

If you are not familiar with the Paramount Theater, it is a great space and a dependable venue for high-quality theater mounted by four different acting troupes. https://localwiki.org/alamance/Paramount_Theater

Here is an email I sent family and friends after seeing last night's performance:

"This whole production is superb! Bryan was brilliant throughout, but his singing, dancing and boisterous good spirits in “The Brotherhood Of Man” (the show’s “big hit”)  was a tour de force."

By my lights, Bryan's performance of "Brotherhood" is hands-down better than Robert Morse's rendition in the 1967 movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_29IeEeZqo

A final note...

In 2011, Bryan saw Daniel Radcliffe star in a Broadway production of "How To Succeed" and came away resolved to play J. Pierrepont Finch one day.

That day has come.

Don't miss this thoroughly delightful show.

The Gallery Players will present “How to Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying)” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (February 23-24); 2 p.m. Sunday (February 25); 8 p.m. March 2-3; and 2 p.m. March 4 at the Paramount Theater, 128 E. Front St., Burlington. Tickets are $17 for adults and $14 for senior citizens and students and can be purchased between noon and 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and one hour prior to showtime.
