Complete with backlot bullies and Queen Bee Wannabes.

Peer pressure is everywhere.

And it's effective.

Add confirmation bias and the Dunning-Kruger Effect and the small-town-backwater "battle" is pretty much lost.

They don't care about solidarity.

They care about the chest-thumping chauvinist who looks like them - the All-American "success story" they hope to be.
