Alan: This slaughterhouse looks tidy now, but it was a bloody, painful, excremental mess getting here.
On this Thanksgiving Day, I give thanks to friend Lisa for sending me "Farm To Fridge."

  2. I had a good Thanksgiving. Finally got past a computer glitch and have resumed editing the photos I took in Oaxaca. I also saw an exceptionally moving film, "A Wonderful Day In The Neighborhoor." Yes, it's about Mr. Rogers, but sooooo much more.

One sidelight of the movie was its revelation of Mr. Rogers as an advocate for vegetarianism.

“I don’t want to eat anything that has a mother,” he often said. Rogers stopped eating meat, fish, and fowl, including succulent turkey, in the early 1970s, not long after Frances Moore Lappe published Diet for a Small Planet, a major critique of meat production and a compelling argument for a plant-based diet that can help alleviate world hunger. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/what-would-mister-rogers-eat_b_6193910
