People have most difficulty on the Myers-Briggs test when asked: "Do you prefer justice or mercy?"
If you prefer justice, it would be consistent (not that consistency is everything) to want/expect the collapse of American Empire.
Is it possible Trump is "God's karmic agent" in this regard?!?!?
And is the collapse of American Empire a bad thing?
It is bad for our hopes, dreams and childhood expectations/aspirations.
But is collapse a "necessary purgation" just as The Dark Ages can be seen as necessary purgation for the excess (and eventual indolence/decay) of ancient Rome.
And lest we forget....
Italy turned out waaaaay cool! (So did the former empires of Spain, England, Greece, Austria, Hungary and Holland.)
Personally, I still hope for mercy, but to some extent this wish may be self-indulgent "positioning" in hopes of being exempted from iron-clad karmic backlash for my own sins. (Someone said: "We are not punished for our sins. We are punished by our sins."
In any event, I think pandering to "The Trump Show" in 2020 is bad strategy.
No one can beat Trump at his game.
Instead of finding an Avenatti-like "mouth" to "beat Trump at his own game," I say "run a good ticket and hammer relentlessly on Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan," making sure that 2016's "linchpin 80,000 votes" flip Democratic this time. (And remember that Hillary didn't even campaign in one of these states... and was often MIA elsewhere, preferring safe "garden parties with adoring followers" to the sort of mass rally that might have turned out more voters.)
Another part of my electoral strategy is to hammer on Florida and Arizona, both of which could flip Democratic in 2020.
Notably, I see no states that could flip Republican.
At bedrock, figure out ways to get more Democrats to the polls.
After all, there are one third more Dems than Repugnicans so there's plenty of fertile ground to be tilled.
I'm sure we can count on your own efforts to knock on neighbors' doors.
Increasing black turnout is crucial - especially in Pennsylvania and Michigan where nothing more that a big black turnout could insure Democratic victory.
Biden is the best prepared candidate - and with Kamala Harris as his running mate - he would have a natural "in" with American blacks, not to mention that Obama would be doubly enthused to campaign for a Biden-Harris ticket.
Plus Joe's got a mouth.
And he's a scrapper.
I can see Biden "taking Trump to the woodshed."
To address your other issue...
I don't think Trump can overthrow Obamacare.
And although Dickhead can appeal to the dimwits by offering them cheap, shitty insurance, I don't see him coming up with any kind of non-laughable Trumpcare (a.k.a. "The Healthcare Deprivation Act").
Remember: Trump HAS to heave great gobs of red meat at his Base and those bigots REALLY want people of color to die - preferably lingering, painful deaths that could have been prevented by any decent healthcare program.

I'm fearful of making a wrong pick in this race. We don't have a preview of how they look going toe to toe with hector. They look great in their own arena but can they make hector look small and rediculous. It should be easy because he is but bluster and ridicule continues to work with joe shmo the American middle man. It's the show that counts to them. Who can out show hector? The V.P. will also be crucial. Charisma over competence. It's not dumbing down America. It's is already dumb. It's meeting them where they are.If the ruling against Obamacare stands and hector gets some sort of trumpcare is it game over? That's why he was so elated at the ruling . It's hectors wet dream.trumpcare is branding like trumpsteaks,, trumpwater, trumptower etc etc etcA branding that won't go away and will be on people's lips maybe daily. We can't allow that to happen. At least til Medicare for all. If ever.LoveF
