I am frustrated by the govt. shutdown. I would say to resist Trump, but I pay no price for this. I suffer no inconvenience. It is for us to take direction from unpaid and furloughed govt workers. If they say, in great majority, to stand strong, then we should. But if they want to go back to work and get paid, we should give Trump his wall.
But what does Nancy P. think? She is older and meaner than Donald Trump. She ain't a bit scared of him.

At an annual salary of $30,000.00, $5 billion buys 166,667 full-time guards.

Dividing this total workforce by 3 shifts results in 55,557 24/7 guards.

Positioning these 55,557 guards at regular intervals over the entire 1933 mile length of the U.S.-Mexico border results in one round-the-clock guard every 184 feet, or, a guard every 61 yards.

If Congress appropriates $5 billion annually and offers all guard jobs to unemployed people -- voilà -- you have a worthy "jobs program."

Of course nothing is failsafe and, as we know, there are crooks everywhere - the worst of them in The Oval Office.

Even so, actual guards stationed "every 50 yards" would be more effective than Trump's wall which can be "climbed over" or "tunneled under" just as Hezbollah has a perpetual honeycomb-of-tunnels from Lebanon into Israel on The Most Highly Protected Border In The World.
