In the Iraq war we had a big base in Kuwait and relatively easy access to Baghdad up the river plains and still we couldn’t hold the territory. Iran is much larger and largely mountainous. Best access is from the north but guess who is up there? Bolton’s plan is presumably to bomb the sh*t out of them, with no plan to stabilize the country, basically the Libya model and we all know how that went. Plus Iran is much more capable of striking at us and our troops than Iraq was. This is a recipe for disaster. Is this really what Putin wants? It is completely nuts."
