Fred Owens: Kavanaugh is dominating the news cycle, day after day. I'm kind of worn out by it all. I think the odds are fifty-fifty that the Judiciary Committee votes him in on Friday. I predict the testimony of Kavanaugh and Blasey will not be conclusive. Neither party will self-destruct. Who to believe? Personally I can live with contradictory versions of the same event. We wish for a simple explanation, but we will not get that certitude.

Additional testimony would wisely begin with a subpoena of Mark Judge who is the only person - other than Kavanaugh himself - whom Dr. Christine Blasey Ford identified as a co-assailant in her sexual assault.
The fact that Mr. Judge is currently ensconced in a Delaware beach home, with no hint of being called to testify before the Senate, is a clear marker of manipulative shenanigans by "The Party of Lincoln" (!?!) and a telltale indicator of GOP determination to prevent Judge's inculpatory testimony from reaching the light of day. (Perhaps someone will explain - preferably with a straight face - why Mark Judge has not been subpoenaed.)

Curiously, my own two-part "wish list" is that Dr. Blasey Ford will make the same persuasive case she made on polygraph... and that 11 white, Republican men sell their souls - yet again - by ramrodding Kavanaugh's confirmation to climax, the senatorial equivalent of Brett's allegedly pushy penis.
The coast-to-coast epiphany wrought by this raw power play (and the cloudy character thus enshrined on The Supreme Court for 30 years) will optimize Democratic chances of controling both congressional houses this November, followed by The White House in two years.
