Alan: Early in Francis' papacy, it became apparent that Cardinal Bergoglio's lack of support for Liberation Theology had given way to a world view rooted in Liberation Theology. Trying to understand this reversal, it seemed plausible - if not probable - that Francis had been transformed by his failure to protect several Argentine Jesuits from the murderous machinations of Argentina's military dictatorship, resulting in their likely torture and death. "Untying The Knots" places Pope Francis' amends-making metanoia at the heart of this new biography.

I recommend Fr. Z's review both "for what it is" but also for insight into "Traditionalist Catholicism."

A devout Catholic Traditionalist who blogs as The Thinking Housewife reveals the ubiquitous right-wing urge to represent whites as superior, "under attack" and in need of race-based defense.
