But there is a good chance the judge and her family would not have been thrust into this unrelenting -- "it-will-never-go-away" -- horror without Trump's carefully-cultivated climate of hatred which is reflected in the murderer's hatred of women and his hatred of latinos.
It is true that the shooter had a lifelong history of hatred, but there are always behavioral "thresholds" beyond which what was previously "speculative" becomes concrete reality.
