As I read this article I kept flashing on the tens of millions of Americans who refuse to believe the broad outline of consensus reality, replacing it instead with alternative facts... trashing all mainstream media as fake news... inventing spur-of-the-moment conspiracy theories whenever Reality doesn’t suit them... Trump’s verbatim declaration that “any negative polls are fake news,” and now — as we seem to be nearing the end — the surging popularity of QAnon.

    Alan Archibald I believe anyone who takes QAnon seriously has a fundamental flaw in their judgment.

  FM: Mainstream media have lied us into every war, regime change, and bombing campaign of my lifetime and long before that. The only time every network agrees on anything is when we're destroying a society. Recognize that MSNBClA and CNN fell right in line with Trump's bombing of Syria. Recognize that no network pointed out Obama's victory lap for his Nobel Peace Prize was 26,000 bombs dropped in his final year of disappointment. Stop trashing "conspiracy theorists" when OBVIOUS conspiracies of silence are carried out before our eyes throughout time.

    For people who pay attention, it is common knowledge that Uncle Sam lies about The Military Industrial Complex's toxic, profiteering intent. 
    
    If conspiracies are, as you say, "OBVIOUS," they are, by definition, not conspiracies. 
    
    In related vein, humankind's core conspiracy from the beginning of "civilization" has been the "plutocratic" dominance/submission ruse that "the filthy rich" deserve a toweringly disproportionate amount of resource while "the poor" are thoroughly "undeserving" except to the extent that their "failed lives" deserve to be degraded and short. 
    
    Almost every other conspiracy's fundamental thrust is to distract "peons" from the avaricious self-interest of "the ungodly rich." 
    
    The most recent beneficiary of such distraction is Donald J. Trump who realizes that "conspiracy thinking" ultimately works to the advantage of plutocrats and other top-heavy "money-managers" which is why he launched his campaign on the cornerstone of "birtherism." (It cannot be overemphasized that "the ultimate beneficiary of conspiracy thinking is The Right Wing." And so, while "conspiracists" may "win an occasional battle," they fundamentally lather themselves to "lose the war" to what we still call "conservatism.")
