Virginia's Republican Representative Scott Rigell Endorses Libertarian Gary Johnson

Virginia’s Rep. Rigell endorses Libertarian Johnson
WASHINGTON — Virginia Republican congressman Scott Rigell (RIH’-jel) says he’ll vote for Libertarian Gary Johnson for president rather than for Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Rigell announced the endorsement in an interview Friday with The New York Times. He said in March he would not vote for Trump, telling fellow Republicans in a letter that Trump’s judgment, temperament and character point to “a reckless, embarrassing and ultimately dangerous presidency.”
Rigell is retiring after six years in office. He is the first member of Congress to announce support for Johnson.
Johnson tweeted on Sunday that he’s honored to have Rigell’s support.
Republican Rep. Richard Hanna of New York endorsed Hillary Clinton last week. Hanna is also retiring at the end of this term.
Rigell represents Virginia’s Second Congressional District, which includes Virginia Beach.
