Dimwit Colorado Priest Addresses Republican Convention

Dear John,

It was embarrassing to watch this priest make a fool of himself. http://www.stthomasmore.org/parish-clergy/video/invocation

Fact: Obama is a Rockerfeller Republican.

He is not -- in any way -- a socialist.

As I age, I realize with increasing clarity that people do not want to think.

Rather, they want confirmation of the ideas-and-attitudes they inherited as thoughtless children.

Nothing confirms thoughtlessness like "sound bites." And since "Good Americans" know that "Socialism is bad!" Father Dimwit invoke "The Word" and "the crowd goes wild."

The fact that socialism has nothing to do with contemporary politics -- on either side of the aisle -- is beside the point.

Americans want to "see red" and Father Half-Wit is eager to wave his cape.

Political discourse in the "United" Sates is dedicated to the inflammation of political passion, then venting the heat through sloganeering fumaroles.

What passes for "political discourse" in America is re-visitation of middle school playground talk.

If the know-nothings win John, America will confront several hellish decades characterized by steep economic decline and political violence unseen since The Battle of Blair Mountain.

How have we gotten to this extreme?

Because "Obama is a Socialist!" hell-bent on destroying everything "truly American."

Now.

Before the tide sweeps us "out to sea," consider Miriam-Webster's definition of "socialism."

so·cial·ism

 noun \ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\
1
: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2
a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private propertyb : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state.
Although Obamacare bears the brunt of "socialist" allegations, it is an indisputable fact that The Vatican -- in collaboration with the United States Conference of American Bishops -- advocate a brand of Universal Healthcare that is immeasurably more "socialist" than Obamacare itself. http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2012/06/what-catholic-church-teaches-on-health.html

To condemn Obamacare is tantamount to God-damning the Vatican -- and the American bishops -- to The Lake of Eternal Fire

Share this blog post with conservative friends -- particularly conservative Catholic friends -- and see how long it takes them to become "cafeteria Catholics."

Obamacare was specifically designed to work within America's Private Sector by providing insurance companies with tens of millions of new "paying customers - customers whose participation in "the system" would make "universal healthcare" viable by discharging their individual mandate to purchase health insurance.

The "individual mandate" is the flip side of "healthcare freeloading."

Currently, "the uninsured" use emergency rooms for primary care and then walk away from the bill. And emergency rooms are the most expensive way - by far - to provide medical treatment.

According to Obamacare's "structure," government has a hand in the administration of medical goods, but more importantly does NOT administer the means of production.

Having said that, do not overlook the obvious: Government has long administered both medical goods AND the means of production through Medicare and the VA --- two of the three Most Popular Agencies of government.

Those who rail against Obamacare as socialism are the same folks who show up at Tea Party demonstrations with the following signs:

The hammer and the sickle are Republican tools for budget-cutting and whacking the witless on the back of the head.

The very people who protest Obamacare would have opposed Medicare had they been politically active in the mid '60s.

And Medicare was REALLY socialist.

Yes, Americans are that stupid.

And yes, Americans are that ignorant of history.

American know nothings know nothing because they don't want to "know nuthin'" - at least nothing that requires time-consuming research, painstaking analysis and intellectual rigor.

What Americans do want is to "vent from the belly," bypassing the brain.

As a result, American politics has the peculiar sound -- and the peculiar smell -- of unrelenting flatulence.

Mark my words John.

The GOP's obsession with cutting-the-budget (and cutting taxes) will result in cutting the nation's throat.

Once again, I recommend review of George Carlin's American Dreamhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acLW1vFO-2Q

Pax on both houses

An outspoken Colorado priest was asked to lead thousands of delegates in prayer at a Republican convention.
What he said next caused quite a stir in the convention hall. See for yourself...
