"The Problem With Islam" Is Equally Problematic For All Three Abrahmic Religions

The same public opinion poll found that 30 percent of Republican voters want to criminalize Islam. A Des Moines Register poll showed that nearly 40 percent of GOPers think Islam is an inherently violent religion."

The problem with all three Abrahamic religions - a problem that does not afflict Hinduism or Buddhism - is that Islam, Christianity and Judaism are founded on scripture that invites violence.

Although scriptural interpretation is hotly disputed, many passages in the Old Testament and the Qur'an can be easily interpreted as God's validation -- even His encouragement -- of violence as a way to achieve godly ends.

Despite ongoing (and probably irresolvable) argument over scriptural intent, the preponderance of evidence forces the conclusion that each Abrahamic religion, in its orthodox manifestation, is divinely chosen to be "THE people of God" while everyone else is a lost soul categorically separated from "the flock of The Saved."

Although the Second Vatican Council incorporated a fundamental change in doctrine, acknowledging multiple paths to salvation, the traditional belief -- still subscribed by many adamant believers -- is that "extra ecclesiam nulla salus," which is to say "outside the church there is NO salvation." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extra_Ecclesiam_nulla_salus

Since infidel souls are already destined to eternal perdition, relatively few ardent believers muster much loving kindness for "the lost" and many of them - across the whole Abrahamic spectrum - hold that unbelievers would be "better off dead" since they are already "lost" and therefore pre-condemned to a "fate worse than death."
