Under-Reported Story: Obama's "Wow" Reaction After Seeing Paul Ryan's Spending Bill

Wow: The Way Obama Reacted After Seeing Paul Ryan’s Spending Bill Says It All

"It's worse!"
The White House is loudly gloating over its major budget victory as conservatives not-so-silently fume.
The first budget deal negotiated by new House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., was an early Christmas present for President Obama, giving him all the programs he wanted without what the White House described as “hundreds of needless ideological riders” that would express the desires of the America people on issues such as abortion or refugees. The $1.1 trillion budget is expected to be passed Friday.
“We walked into these negotiations focused on making sure that Republicans would not succeed in advancing their ideological agenda through the budget process,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said. “We did succeed in fighting off those efforts.”
Republicans lost in their efforts to eliminate federal payments to Planned Parenthood, delay President Obama’s plan to accept Syrian refugees, repeal taxes that fund federal health insurance subsidies, and cut funding for climate change initiatives.
Conservative commentators were unhappy.
“Rep. Paul Ryan’s first major legislative achievement is a total and complete sell-out of the American peoplemasquerading as an appropriations bill,” wrote Stephen K. Bannon and Julia Hahn on Breitbart.
"By locking in the President’s refugee, immigration, and spending priorities, Ryan’s bill is designed to keep these fights out of Congress by getting them off the table for good,” they wrote.
“Delivering Obama these wins–and pushing these issues beyond the purview of Congress–will suppress public attention to the issues and, in so doing, will boost the candidacy of the Republican establishment’s preferred presidential contenders, who favor President Obama’s immigration agenda,” they continued.
Others were stung to deeper anger.
“Ryan has proven to be the same lying, cheating, inside-the-beltway, John Boehner 2.0 establishment RINO that Conservatives such as myself warned about when the GOP power brokers hand-picked him as the new Speaker,” wrote David Leach.
"This budget isn’t as bad as originally thought. … it’s worse! And it takes us one more step down the road to Obama’s fundamental transformation of America,” he wrote.
