Where Conservative Christians Go Wrong

Alan: How many upstanding, church-going Christians would let an itinerant preacher - a guy they meet on the street - rub spit-mud on their eyes?

And how much of the orthodox assumption that Jesus will return in "majesty and glory" is attributable to a psychological need among cautious, rule-following Christians that the messiah be utterly unmistakable when he returns?

Which begs these questions:

"Why was Yeshuah so easily mistaken for a rabble-rousing carouser who prefered the company of prostitutes, publicans and traitorous tax collectors?"

"And why would God do things differently the next time?"

Yeshua himself told us: "I have come not to call those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners..."

Mother Theresa would have us believe that the messiah is already here, among us now, "in the distressing disguise of the poor."

People get ready.

When Jesus comes back, he will look just as scruffy and unsavory as he did before.

And he will want to rub spit-mud on your eyes.

Again "the righteous" will clamor for Barrabas.
