Ben Carson may be in trouble. Conservatives like Joe Scarborough have always falsely claimed media bias against conservatives, but those in the know have always realized that’s a tactic to preempt or neutralize justifiably negative stories.
The fact is that the media has not been liberal for some time. In fact, as more singular corporate control of the media has occurred, it has become decidedly more conservative.
Joe Scarborough educated his listeners for a change as he hit Ben Carson very hard on his MSNBC show Morning Joe recently, pointing out his ignorance.
"It shows his complete and total ignorance of American political history to say there's never been vetting like this. You look at Hillary Clinton and by the way, she deserves everything she's gotten from this table," Joe Scarborough said exasperatedly. "We have raked Hillary over the coals nonstop day in and day out and we've done it here searching for the truth. All right. You look at George W. Bush, the National Guard story. They went after Bush there. Joe Biden, again, like I said before when he ran in '88. Look at Bill Clinton. You know, Jon Meacham, Bill Clinton back in 1992, we heard that he had visited the USSR; that was something swirling around forever. Barack Obama, Barack Obama didn't get it with Jeremiah Wright? How many times did we talk and how many times did the national media talk about him saying "God damn the United States of America" the day after or the Sunday after 9/11? I mean, we all know that. We all heard about Bill Ayers. We all heard about everything with Barack Obama. Ben Carson has been given cotton candy and treated to lollipops by the mainstream media."
Joe Scarborough is only partially right. The Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama press coverage was abysmal and sensationalist. The traditional mainstream media generally falls in line with what their masters want. There are acceptable candidates on either side, and the media falls into line with making the path easy for certain candidates.
The media has preordained Hillary Clinton as the acceptable Democrat. They have beaten her up just enough to ensure that their acceptable Republican candidate at least has a chance. It keeps a balance where the media wins, no matter which candidate wins. It should be noted that Ben Carson is not their acceptable Republican candidate. But could someone who says things like this be acceptable to any thinking American?
