"Love Your Enemies," "Turn The Other Cheek" And "Seldom Sermonized Bible Verses"

Eye for Eye or Turn the Other Cheek?

Dear Elaine,

Thanks for today's "reminder."

I keep a file called "Seldom Sermonized Bible Verses." http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2015/04/seldom-sermonized-bible-verses.html

One of them is: "Resist not evil but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." Here is the entire passage: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+5%3A+38-48&version=KJV

If you have not yet come upon a bible translation entitled "The Message" you might want to read this same passage in that so-called "idiomatic" version:

I never read "The Message" without receiving new insight.

Pax tecum

Alan
