Gothcha! The Quality Of Questions At GOP Presidential Debates Probed By NPR's On The Media

Alan: When asked which newspapers and magazines she read,
Sarah Palin wouldn't (couldn't) name a single one.

Later, Palin fought back with allegations of "gotcha" questions.

The video is marvelous.
Is Katie Couric asking a "gotcha question," or is she trying to determine if candidate Palin has a modicum of intellectual capability, curiosity, insight and competence?

Clearly "intellectualism" has little cachet on "Main Street."

But to hold it in contempt is contemptible.

Is it now "normal" for Republican presidential candidates to answer questions like temporizing beauty queens trying to cover their inner void with a sexy shell and empty rhetoric?

Airheadedness... coupled with political prurience.

Sarah Palin as American conservatism's centerfold wet dream.

In the following video, Palin leads the way.

GOTCHA!

Republican presidential candidates try to reassert control over the debate process, but they can't quite agree on how. Plus: in praise of the "gotcha" question; some optimism on the newspaper industry; and Bob talks with Alec Baldwin on all things media.

DEBATE DEMANDS

Republican presidential candidates trying to reassert control over future debates were roundly mocked for their demands

IN PRAISE OF "GOTCHA!"

Most of the Republican candidates agree that the main problem with last week's CNBC debate was the preponderance of "gotcha" questions. Bob begs to differ.
