For Many, Religion Is A Safe Place To Park Prejudice

Alan: Unthinking religion serves as a safe religion for people who need a place, socially-validated space to "park" prejudice.

Although I am a practicing Catholic, I also formulate my views according to my best lights, never heeding dogma for dogma's sake.

In recent years we have learned about the surprising prevalence of psychopathy and now realize that unhinged people are seemingly upright participants in every human enterprise.

We know that psychopaths, particularly sociopaths,are - with surprising regularity - very attractive, even charismatic people.

Ted Bundy, the serial killer necrophiliac who lived in my home down, is a case study.
