Inexplicable Lights On Surface Of Dwarf Planet Ceres

Alan: This photo is of particular interest in that the lights remain as bright as they are in other shots when the "home" crater is directly under zenith sun.

One plausible explanation is that the lights result from sunlight reflecting off a vitreous surface that may have been created by volcanic activity. 

If this theory were true, however, one would expect the reflected light to diminish as the "home" crater moves toward the edge of darkness as it does in this picture.
