Frederick Douglass On Reading And Freedom

"Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.”
— Frederick Douglass

It has also been said that to read well, one must continually "re-write" the text while reading it.

Bibliolatry - especially to the exclusion of other books - is an attempt to avoid thinking
and in many cases to avoid freedom.
