American conservatism reminds me of Virgin Sacrifice.

Conservatives create a ceaseless sequence of "virgins" whose purpose is to "spotlight" Democratic wrongdoing, and then -- when it is subsequently revealed that the most recent "virgin" is a slut-liar -- they sacrifice "her" at the altar of The Next Virgin.

Conservatives are also loathe to "contextualize events" which would normally include historical comparisons that enable "proper perspective," without which every "relative triviality" seems of equal importance.

PS I marvel that two of the following 14 cartoons relate to "umbrella etiquette." A third cartoon is a silly homophobic broadside against gay NBA player Jason Collins. And two others continue to lambaste Bowe Bergdahl's release even though The Joint Chiefs of Staff unanimously approved the Taliban prisoner swap.
