What To Do About ISIS?

"ISIL In Iraq Crucifies 8 Rebels"

***
Yazidis, now fleeing from ISIS, have their own religion, their own customs, their own language...... They have done a good job of minding their own business, but that won't help them today..... Here is quite an extensive article on the Yazidis....

Should we help them? How should we help them?

Dear Fred,

I am loathe to recommend violence.

That said, I see frequent need for "police action" which I consider categorically different from "acquisitve belligerence."

Pelt ISIS with airdropped (and electronic) notifications informing them that they have 24 hours to retreat at which time they will be bombarded into the arms of "72 waiting virgins." https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090429194347AAVtZa2

The highest estimate I have seen for the number of ISIS "regulars" is 15,500 -- spread over Syria and Iraq -- a mere one third the number of Iraqi regulars who fled their posts in Mosul the moment ISIS arrived. Other estimates of ISIS regulars put their number as low as 7000.

Also inform these thugs that if ISIS' central leadership does not order its troops to retreat from Yazidi homeland, then those fellows too will be targeted -- relentlessly -- by drones.

If there is not already a price on  the head of ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, a sizeable bounty might persuade ISIS' many foes to determine-and-reveal his whereabouts.

$25 million was offered for Osama bin Laden. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/osama-bin-laden-reward-paid/story?id=13633236

It would also be good if the United States conducted open discussions with Saudi Arabia concerning that nation's willingness to ally actively with the United States.

I see no reason why these supposed "friends" -- in whose backyard this violence is taking place and in whose "front yard" this violence began -- are never even asked to "get their hands dirty."

Solicit Saudi help "point blank."

If they refuse to give it, publish their rationale so that American citizens can make informed decisions whether they wish to continue Uncle Sam's support for this effete -- and apparently useless -- medieval monarchy.

Pax tecum

Alan
