Israel's Solution To "The Iranian Problem"

Hey!
I've got a good idea...
This could be Tehran!

"Is Israel The World's Worst Terror State?
An Israeli General's Son Thinks So"

Dear Fred,

Iranians may be the most cosmopolitan people in The Islamic World.

It is also true that Iran is ruled by a cabal of aging mullahs who ultimately came to power as a nationalistic response to Uncle Sam's toppling of democratically-elected president Mossadegh, in 1953. http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2013/09/reaping-what-we-sowed-1953-cia.html

Despite the mullahs, Iranians are more eager for modernization than any other Islamic republic, and certainly more eager for progress than Christian conservatives, currently making a pit stop in the 19th century en route to the 12th.

Fifteen years ago I met brothers Adam and David B., sons of an Iranian Jew who had emigrated to Brentwood, California, where he established a posh - and wildly successful - Persian rug company.

David and Adam were currently attending U.S. Medical Schools and kept in constant internet connection with family and friends "back home."

During our week together, we dined nightly, then took long, ambling walks in Oaxaca's historic district.

Both fellows opposed military intervention in Iran, confident the mullahs were destined to "molt" and that any intervention by belligerent foreigners would cause Iranians to coalesce around reactionary nationalism.

Sounded "right" to me then.

Still does.

What sounds even truer is that the United States and Israel - perhaps unconsciously - have come to believe that the best way to "rule the roost" is to use military force to reduce enemies (and perceived/designated enemies) to failed-state rubble.

Such politics will not end well.

Pax tecum
