After Cantor, GOP's Only Option Is To Piss Off Hispanics Even More

For GOP, there's much more at stake than immigration reform itself. "The immediate policy implications of this are clear: Immigration reform is completely dead. It was a very longshot before Tuesday night. Now, it’s 100 percent over. Cantor’s loss shows how toxic the subject is for any incumbent Republican. It doesn’t bode well for Senator Marco Rubio’s presidential ambitions as well. But it also doesn’t bode well for the party as a whole. Immigration reform is going to continue being a national issue. Republicans will still have to take a stance on it — and the only stance they can take is one that alienates Hispanics." Danny Vinik in The New Republic
