Reflecting on the "infallible" Papal Declaration of The Assumption in 1950, Carl Jung made this comment in his memoir, Memories, Dreams, Reflections":“In the realm of
Catholic thought the Mother of God and Bride of Christ has been received into
the divine thalamus (bride chamber) only recently, after centuries of
hesitancy, and thus at least been accorded partial recognition. But in the
Protestant and Jewish spheres the father continues to dominate as much as ever.
In philosophical alchemy, on the other hand, the feminine principle plays a
role equal to that of the masculine.”
