Alan: In a response to a conservative Catholic's stated desire that "the government" release full transcripts of Flynn's conversation with the Russian Ambassador, I wrote:

I agree that the full transcripts contain crucial information.

However, if those transcripts include evidence of treason (or other "high crimes and misdemeanors"), the resulting firestorm -- complete with raging allegations of "fake news" and relentless assertion of "alternative facts" -- could lead to "fighting in the streets," a collapsing security situation that Trump might welcome but more level heads in the 17 intelligence agencies that affirm "Russian meddling in American affairs" would understandably want to avoid.
