Alan: The narrator's snarky tone is mildly disagreeable and some of his assertions a tad over the top. However, he marshals documentary footage of Dick Cheney, Madeleine Albright and General Wesley Clarke that is simply jaw-dropping. 1.) Vietnam demonstrated the futility of intervening in another's country's civil war.
2.) Iraq demonstrated the futility of starting another country's civil war.
Undergirding these harsh lessons is this disturbing truth: The only "success" America's military can now guarantee is the creation of "failed states" - a process that General Curtis LeMay characterized as "bombing them back to the Stone Age."

On one hand, the destructive capability of America's military is considered "protective" since destruction of functioning states means they can no longer develop nuclear weapons.
On the other hand, failed states become hotbeds of terrorism.
