"Trump Just Canceled Pompeo's Trip To North Korea. That's A Really Bad Sign."

Alan: The viability of Trump's political future may hinge (at least in Bone Spur's mind) on "busying giddy minds with foreign quarrels."
It is an inconvenient truth that the initial "fog of war" carves out a dependable period of 6 - 12 months in which the simple expedient of jingoistic posturing instills any population with patriotic fervor. (In this regard, polling data prove that the United States is a nation of sheep, easily manipulated by Uncle Sam's belligerent propaganda.)
Remember the promised "cakewalk" during the run-up to Iraq?
And - even more enticingly - a predicted total cost of just $25 billion!
$50 billion max.
Throughout Trump's presidency, I have held that he "needs" a war to compensate his rife failings.
The "designated enemies list" includes North Korea, Iran and Venezuela.
Contemplating these three options, I would venture that Trump is willing (and eager) to sub-contract belligerence against Iran to our Israeli client state, and that Venezuela is not a big enough "deal" to receive the necessary outpouring of "patriotic praise" - either in Donald's own mind, or from the lips of "the free and the brave."
On the other hand, if Trump believes he can strike North Korea fast enough and hard enough to minimize North Korea's ability to respond with pre-positioned artillery that -- according to estimates -- would kill 100,000 North Koreans and American troops living near the DMZ, then he can proclaim victory to the world, boast his single-handed, heroic elimination of North Korea's nuclear threat... and, as night follows day, the GOP enjoys a mid-term sweep.
