Would America Care If Trump Nuked North Korea?
Stanford-Dartmouth Research Says A Clear Majority Is Incline To Support A Preemptive Strike

Alan: Trump's election "let the cat out of the bag."

Americans - sometimes an electoral majority - actively prefer violence to peace, and to vent their core malevolence would giddily throw untold millions - "over there, far away" - under "the nuclear bus."

They want holocaust.

They clamor for holocaust.

They crave holocaust.

They would not only feel good about dropping The Big One, they feel a "moral obligation" to unleash Armageddon (the ultimate self-fulfilling prophecy).

Conservative Christianity, Armageddon As Self-Fulfilling Prophecy, And Return To The Neolithic

New York governor Mario Cuomo was right when he characterized the United States as the most violent "society" in the history of the world. (I have not been able to track down this decades-old quotation  but I remember reading it as clearly as I remember the mushroom cloud over Hiroshima.)

Lamentably, Americans are so dumbed-down by consumerist materialism that in their advanced state of atrophy they are psycho-spiritually unable to realize that nuclear attack will not "simply" end North Korea's nuclear status while supposing that tens of thousands of American lives "will be saved."

For once a nuclear bomb is detonated over Pyongyang, thousands of American soldiers WILL die - along with millions of South Koreans and Japanese. (Many American soldiers will die from Uncle Sam's own bomb.)

Nor will the devastation stop there.

Any nuclear rent in the web of planetary social life will repercuss in unimaginable ways.

Such repercussions will certainly include a global economic catastrophe to make The Great Depression look like a Donald Trump bankruptcy.

In addition to the human death-and-suffering toll, nuclear preemption will also evoke universal (and lasting) contempt for the United States which will be revealed not only as the only nation to unleash nuclear weapons (having done so twice in Japan, both times on civilian populations) and is now a "society" that doubles down on its original moral monstrosity by making clear our national resolve to vaporize whole cultures in the name of "stand-your-ground" and "shoot-on-suspicion." (It is seldom mentioned that Nagasaki has always been the epicenter of Christianity in Japan.)

To summarize the loss of America's soul, I spotlight the nation's ignorance of - and contempt for - Christianity's nearly 2000 year old "Just War Tradition."

"Faith, Hope, Charity And Divine Desperation"

Afterthoughts:

1.) When China developed the atomic bomb, Mao Zedong boasted that China could afford to lose a hundred million people and would still have five hundred million citizens to over-run the United States. This astonishing (and accurate) threat resulted in NO nuclear saber-rattling by the United States. Subsequently, China evolved into our America's largest trading partner and today there is NO possibility of nuclear war between the two countries. None. Nada. Nihil.

2.) The bomb dropped on Hiroshima packed more firepower than ALL bombs dropped on Europe during World War II. And today's nuclear bombs make the Hiroshima bomb look like a firecracker.
