Alan Archibald I'm delighted these three fellows are free.

However, across the killing fields, I also see the contextualization of a million dead Iraqis (and a drastically destabilized Middle East) because Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld-Wolfowitz-Bolton-Yu opted for a "Whimsy War" having NOTHING to do with the alleged casus belli.

Just one freed American gets more attention than Uncle Sam's extermination of 333,000 Iraqis.

For those "patriots" who routinely conceive the American flag as a suitable shroud for dark-skinned people -- over there, far away, worshipping "false gods" -- the calculus is irresistible!

When Washington designates an enemy, it doesn't much matter whose ass is getting whipped, just that somebody's ass is getting whipped.

Trump is itching for his "legacy war" and -- barring expulsion from The Oval Office -- he will wage that war on Iran, North Korea, or both.

The Deplorable One is also likely to get stuck in the deepening muck of Syria.
