Canada Is Such A Solid, Civilized, Level-Headed Country. Consider UT, My Alma Mater

Acceptance rate is not really a thing in Canada. That’s a US metric.

In Canada, the smart students look at the entrance averages. That means the grade cut-off for acceptance. If your marks in Grade 12 are above the cut-off entrance average, there is a 99.5% chance you will get in.

Since students have a rough idea of the entrance average requirements, and they know their own marks, they don’t apply to schools where they have no chance of getting in. If your marks are borderline, it’s worth a shot.

That’s why the “acceptance rate” at Canada’s top school (U of T) is 50%, when top schools in the US are 2%.

Predictability.

So forget about acceptance rates and get your marks up.
