Frontline: Conservative Political Philosophy Executed An Innocent Man

Alan: Conservatives scare more easily than liberals.  http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2013/07/conservatives-scare-more-easily-than.html One fearful concern is that "meaning itself" will evaporate from Universe if they let any wrong go unrighted. Confronting wrongness -- or even apparent wrongness -- conservatives are quick to pass judgment and eager to restore justice by devising the most vengeful punishments possible. In the following Frontline documentary, one conservative woman - delighting in the prospect of retaliation - says 'it's a shame Todd Willingham couldn't be executed three times since he killed his three children.' "Death by Fire" is documentary film-making at its best. The first 20 minutes build a relentless case against the accused so that "every" viewer will conclude Willingham is a goddamn murderer who deserved what he got. Only after damning Willingham to the innermost circle of Hell does the director explore the cracks in the state's argument until the inevitable conclusiong: whatever one's apprehensions about Willingham, the scientific facts show that the crime of arson, on which the entire inculpatory case is built, is not proven beyond reasonable doubt. If you are liberal, watch it with a conservative friend. If your conservative, watch it with a liberal friend.
