This is a big moment -- and we need your help!
Dear Claiborne,
In just three weeks, decision makers from the Presbyterian Church (USA) -- a mainline Protestant denomination with more than 1.9 million members and 10,000 congregations -- will gather to consider several historic resolutions supporting human rights and justice in Palestine/Israel. These resolutions call for aboycott of Hewlett Packard, equal rights for all, naming Israeliapartheid, researching andwitnessing on the ground, and last but not least, divestment from three U.S. companies profiting from the Israeli occupation.
More than a decade in the making, this would be the largest U.S. divestment victory to date. But our friends and allies at the Presbyterian Church need your help to make it happen! Here's what you can do:
Sign up to volunteer for the campaign! Tasks include:
If any of these appeal to you, we hope you'll sign up!
- Sharing your story with decision makers
- Online research
- Data entry
- Graphic design
- Social media (tweeting, FB, etc.)
Are you a person of faith? If so,sign this petition of Interfaith Partners in Action!
Help show our Presbyterian friends the diverse support that lies behind them, defying outside groups' claims that economic action runs counter to interfaith relationships. We know that good interfaith relations are founded on common values and commitment to doing justice -- together. Sign today!
Donate $10, $20, $50, or more to support mobilization efforts before and at the votes.
The US Campaign will be there on the ground, testifying in the Presbyterian Middle East committee as an official resource expert, supporting local activities, and so much more, but we can't do it without you. Please donate generously to help us get there. Any amount -- large or small -- can make a difference.
Let us work together to bring messages of support and encouragement to Presbyterians seeking to act in their tradition of social justice and prophetic witness by challenging multiple facets of Israeli oppression at their General Assembly.
We hope you'll sign up to be a part of this tremendous moment in the struggle for justice in Palestine/Israel today!
