What sane person can contemplate the devastation in Gaza

and not understand that Israel is making things worse, not better.
Even from its pragmatic point of view.

If what happened to the Palestinians 
-- from the beginning of their expropriation onward -- 
had happened to Americans, 
Uncle Sam  would have giddily exterminated every man, woman and child 
of the offending nation.
