The Collapse Of Reason: There Will Be Blood

Dear F,

Thanks for your email.

Glad to hear Joe has not re-inserted his brown nose.

Here is a pertinent post on Trump's view of computer safety.

Trump Says No Computer Is Safe

Will Trump use couriers rather than computers as he tweets?

Consider.

New York City couriers usually move about on bicycles.

Trump is not that stupid, but what would it cost to send sensitive messages by couriers who are adequately-protected against "highway banditry."

Will there be "courier caravans" traveling between D.C. and New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Seattle, L.A.?

Will Donald use jets to carry sensitive messages to Beijing, Delhi, Baghdad, Riyadh, Haiffa, London, Paris, Moscow?

We are talking about thousands -- probably tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands -- of sensitive federal emails every single day.

As always obtains in "the fascist mind," the quest for Absolute Security is as seductive to conservatives as the seductiveness experienced by a 16 year old horndog in a Texas whorehouse with carte blanche on his Daddy's credit card.

Blinded by the quest for Total Security, fascists cannot be bothered with practicality, counterproductivity or paradoxical effect - the chief paradoxical effect being the unexpected morphing of hyper-security into hyper-insecurity.

Jung coined the term enantiodromia --- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enantiodromia --- to refer to the phenomenon whereby ANYTHING pushed to an extreme reaches a point where it suddenly morphs into its opposite.

Of course conservatives will never understand this because it's paradoxical, and all they can understand is straightforward, semi-brain-dead syllogism: you knew, "the sun evidently revolves around the earth," "the earth is evidently flat," "clearly there's no such thing as global warming because the temperature today is 10 degrees below zero.)

Consider Korea's Kim Jong-un wrapped in a bubble of "complete security"... while EVERYONE around him lives in a state of total insecurity. (Of course, Kim doesn't REALLY think he's secure which is why he keeps killing people.)

Since taking power in 2011, Kim Jong-un has killed 340 people, 140 of whom were senior officers in the country's government. The people Kim whacked were hard-working brown-nosers who spent decades trying to enter Kim's inner sanctum, then, overshadowed by his obsession with Total Security -- poof! -- 140 self-emasculated sycophants are dead.

You're right F.

How can we be so stupid as to not call The Thug's ravings into question?

Fortunately, some good people are pushing back.

The problem is...

Consider your sister Mary --- a good person, raised by a good mother, she attended good Catholic schools -- yet despite all these advantages, she "needed" to believe that Hillary went a crazy, abusive woman because she "saw" her freak out in a video... that NO ONE can track down.

If such a video existed, Trump would have screened it continually.

What better way to cast a pall over Hillary than to demonstrate -- with video evidence!!! -- that she's mad.

From time to time, humankind's veneer of civilization -- and the rationality required to sustain civilization -- slip away.

And in that emergent void, people go crazy.

Pushed about by the chaos of lunacy they believe that the only way to placate the gods who seem to have "turned on them" is to resort to the oldest trick in The Book Of Political Manipulation: "Human Sacrifice."

There will be blood.

As I checked this a.m. to see if my dream came true, there is Joe talking about being summoned to an off-the-record  interview with Donald. After discussion about journalists going to the President when they are summoned he made a good point.
He asked, when are journalists going to start covering all Donald has done so far like nominating the most conservative cabinet who don't believe in science or social justice or about the Supreme Court nominee and it's ramifications for women instead of following every tweet like it was newsworthy? Actually his tweets show what a little, insecure boy he is, like his New Year's greeting to all those who hate him and just can't get over his big win.
I just saw D say that he won't use email or text etc. because no computer is safe. He mentioned his 10 year old and what a computer wiz he is so maybe he's a computer savant. D believes the best way to communicate is to write  down your message and  have it delivered by messenger. Boy that messenger better have a stringent vetting. Of course it would probably have a wax seal like a king would have and that might be harder to break into than an email.
Brilliant.
