Alan: Capitalism's intrinsic drive to automate (and thus eliminate jobs) begs a three-part question:

1.) Will societies decide to re-distribute automatically-produced wealth "automatically?"

2.) Will societies devise a "final" eugenic solution for the non-working poor?

3.) Will the powers-that-be orchestrate a "catastrophe" (consciously or unconsciously) which -- like all catastrophes -- will decimate the poor while mostly protecting the rich?

In England, unemployed workers are called "redundant."

Exactly.

Going forward, "redundancy" is the "New Normal."
