Hillary's Win In The Nevada Primary Points To The Wisdom Of Bernie's Nomination

Alan: If Independent voters decide November's election (as they often do) remember that Bernie Sanders wins that demographic 4 to 1.

Of course, Independents can go either way.

But if the choice is between Sanders (a sane revolutionary) and Trump (a loose canon with no moral compass or intelligible political process), it is likely that a decisive majority of Independents will vote for Sanders.

Democratic voters, on the other hand,  have nowhere to turn but to the Democratic candidate, whoever that may be. Bernie's going to get all those votes plus the otherwise desparate "youth vote."

The way that Hillary won the battle in Nevada is precisely how she could lose the war.

Hillary Wins Nevada Caucuses
An important observation from contributing editor David Beard: According to the early entrance polls, Clinton has a 55-42 lead with the 79 percent of caucus-goers who identify as Democrats. Sanders has a 77-18 advantage with the 20 percent who say they are independents. For upcoming states with closed primaries (i.e., those that only let registered Democrats vote), that disparity could have a real impact.
