DETROIT - In a speech on Wednesday at the Detroit Economic Club, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush urged his audience not to draw too many similarities between him and his brother, former President George W. Bush, telling them, “If I am elected President, I will harm the nation in completely different ways.”
As a preview of the kind of havoc he might wreak if elected President, he reminded the audience of the Terri Schiavo case, in which he ordered a feeding tube inserted into a Florida woman who was in a persistent vegetative state.
“For those of you who think I’m just going to repeat the disastrous mistakes of my brother, check out the Schiavo thing,” he said. “I think it shows you the special kind of crazy I’m capable of.”
