Six corporations -- Viacom, Disney, General Electric, Time Warner, NewsCorp, and CBS -- control 90 percent of print and broadcast media in the United States. These same corporations sponsor the re-election campaigns of incumbent members of Congress, and Congress continues to further deregulate media regulations, allowing for greater media concentration.
