H.L. Mencken: The Overwhelming Power Of Zeitgeist


Alan: Carl Jung explained his reluctance to criticize Nazism as early as many would have liked, saying that we are all psycho-socially shifted zeitgeist, particularly when it exercises suasive force in the very "place" we live.
Historians will record that the United States was overtaken National Lunacy in the wake of Reagan's insistence that "government is the problem" and that this lunacy moved from neurotic to psychotic in the wake of 9/11. Current normalization of this Lunacy is attributable to the normalization arising from zeitgeist.
