"Waiting for Armageddon" - "The Book of Eli"

 Greetings,

I discovered "Waiting for Armageddon" at Rev. David Swanson's thoughtful website - http://davidswanson.wordpress.com/books-and-films/books-and-films-in-2010/

With the arguable exception of Islamist jihadists, Armageddon Cheerleaders are the spookiest people on Earth.

We all live by "self-fulfilling prophecy" and so it is that we become what we perceive.

Here's how Henry Ford summarized the dynamic: "Whether you believe you can, or can't... you're right."

Armageddon - as enveloping conflagration - could easily manifest because "believers" anticipate End Time explosivity, and, being human, do what they can to make their "dreams" come true.

Pay no heed to assertions that Occupy Wall Street is an aimless political spasm perpetrated by puerile ne'r-do-wells.

Look behind this Projection and find the atavistic place where "conservatives" have become hypercritical and hypocritical theocrats whose "military wing" -- drooling at the incapacitation of the Federal Government -- is largely comprised of angry hate groups actively preparing for violent engagement.

Check out Newsweek's cover story, "My Life as a White Supremacist" - http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2011/11/20/my-life-as-white-supremacist.html

Pax on both houses,

Alan

PS  Here's another movie recommendation by Rev. Swanson - "The Book of Eli," starring Denzel Washington.  Roger Ebert begins his review like this...  "I'm at a loss for words, so let me say these right away: "The Book of Eli" is very watchable. You won't be sorry you went. It grips your attention..." http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100113/REVIEWS/100119990/1023
